Hi, my name is Julie. I'm a restless girl who found rest in Christ. I aspire to be a doctor so I may bring God's grace and goodness into people's lives. On my way there, I'll share about His faithfulness in my life, here.

A lot of people have asked me how is it that I’m in such good shape? They ask me how many times I work out in a week. Or sometimes I get questions like,‘Why exactly do you work out and what do you do when you work out?’
This post is to give you a good balance of what it’s like to work out in a healthy way and not allowing yourself to get caught up in the vanity of always wanting to look good. I’ll give you my stand point of working out based on my own experience and observations. So let’s get started shall we? :)So what’s my stand point about working out and staying fit? Well working out regularly definitely has some great benefits to our physical bodies. If you’re an athlete or someone who is physically active, you can agree with me on this one that when you work out you feel more energized, healthy and obviously fit. There are a lot of reason why people work out:
Some people work out because they need to be in shape for sports.
Some people workout because their health is declining and their doctor’s recommend them to stay active.
Others work out on a regular basis because it’s part of their daily healthy routine.
lastly some people workout because it’s their addiction.
I’m not gonna talk about all the different reasons, but what I’m gonna tackle today is that as a Christian, how is working out beneficial to us not just physically but spiritually? The Bible says:

for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come - 1timothy 4:8

We can’t deny the fact that working out is indeed a valuable discipline to our daily lives. It’s not a matter of being vain or conceited. Just because someone is working out and staying fit doesn’t mean that person is conceited. But for us as Christians the main purpose and reason why we should work out and stay healthy is not necessarily just for the purpose of improving the quality of our bodies so that other people will notice and admire us, but instead we work out and stay healthy to improve our physical health so that we will possess more physical energy to devote to physical duties and spiritual goals. Such as prayer, fasting, worship, evangelism, work, school etc.
Brothers and Sisters, change your mind and attitude towards working out.
We need to Work out so that we can Live out the Gospel of Christ. If you’re outta shape and you try to run 5 miles, I bet you, you won’t last. It’s the same thing for us, don’t expect yourself to have all the energy that you need in order to accomplish work, school, or even ministry work if you don’t sleep well, eat right and get enough dose of exercise. We are ought to be responsible as to how we take care of our bodies. Just as much as we feed food to our soul by reading God’s word, we need to feed our bodies and take care of it in order to sustain ourselves through out the day.
And lastly It’s important that we remember to take care of our bodies because it’s a gift from God. So many people in different parts of the world don’t have the access to the things that we have and yet we take it for granted. Let’s challenge ourselves and enjoy God’s creation. Take a quick walk or go for a run. If you have arms and legs use them and don’t waste.
At the end of the day, we are to honor God with our bodies and we can’t just let our bodies deteriorate and neglect it. Always strive for healthiness not just physically but spiritually as well.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

I have those dumbbells where you can adjust by taking them off and placing your desired weight. Anyway, I had to change the weight. I forgot to place one of the weights on one side of the right dumbbell. Lol.

As I was lifting them from my side to workout my shoulders, my left shoulder was feeling the pain, not the right. Hahah, I thought my left shoulder had a harder time because I was right handed? Then I checked why. /facepalm

I was on the verge of slacking off today and lay in bed. Yaaay for kicking my butt today. Wooh, cardio tomorrow! :D RUUUUN.

Glory be to God!

So I ran today and I’m disappointed. I did less than I would usually do. It was my leg’s fault. My right leg started to cramp for some weird reason. I rested a bit then stretched. I tried again. I started getting shin splints on my LEFT leg. REALLY.

Yeah, sad :’( I don’t think I stretched and warmed up enough. Sigh. I’ll do better on Wednesday. Sigh.

Anyway, it’s okay. I received a text from someone while running. It made my day <3
